Is comedian Charlie Murphy any good with live stand-up?

Charlie Murphy is coming to Virginia Beach this weekend (http://www.vabeachfunnybone.com/) to do some stand-up, but I hate when I spend money on comedians that end up doing a weak job when they’re not on television.
Does anybody know if Charlie Murphy’s stand-up is actually any good? Has anyone seen him live? I love him on Chappelle Show too, but how about the real thing?
Yes, I saw him live at the Irvine Improv (California) last Saturday. Honestly, even he’s mean looking, he’s funnier than his brother in the last few years.
i saw him doing standup on tv last week and i was laughing my *ss off. i’d go.
I don’t like comedy. There’s no purpose in it. People need to watch the news and weather channel more often.
